- Day 1 Arrive in Lima
On arrival, we proceed to check-in the hotel in the Miraflores district of Lima.Lima
After a leisurely breakfast, today with a city tour that takes you through both historical and modern Lima. The historical Lima is in the political center where the Plaza de Armas is located with its artistic wooden balconies. We will then visit the Larco Museum, a private display of collectibles from various regions of Peru. In the evening we will have time to visit the modern part of lima which faces the Pacific ocean.
- Day 2 Lima - Puerto Maldonado (Peruvian Amazon) - Amazon Reserve
In the morning, check out and head to Lima Airport to board a flight to the interior Jungle region of the massive Amazon. Puerto Maldonado is where the Tambopata and Madre de Dios rivers merge and this would be the start of our 2 days Amazon Adventure. We will sail on the Madre de Dios to reach the Jungle River Lodge for our two nights stay. In the evening, we have a walk to observe the nocturnal insects. There would also be boating on the river, as the chances of spotting a caiman (alligator family) are good after sunset.
- Day 3 Amazon Reserve - Local Excursions
You will have an option to enjoy various forest excursions depending on your physical abilities. The excursions are planned in three different times of the day, to catch the wildlife and birds of the Amazon. The lodge is located beautifully on the banks of the river.
- Day 4
Puerto Maldonado - Cusco (12500 ft above MSL) - Sacred Valley (9000 ft above MSL)
Transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cusco. We will be served packed lunch. On our arrival in Cusco, we would drive to down to a much lower altitude to the Sacred Valley. Our hotel for the next two nights will be in Yucay a town on the banks of the Urubamba River. Sleeping at a lower altitude than Cusco is always better to wake up fresh to witness the magic of Machu Pichu.
- Day 5 Sacred Valley - Machu Picchu - Sacred Valley
In the morning, transfer to the train station in the town of Ollantaytambo to leave by Vistadome train to Aguas Calientes, the base of Machu Pichu. The train journey is scenic and parallel to the gushing waters of the Urubamba. Once in Aguas Calientes, we will take the bus to the entrance of the ruins of Machu Picchu where the guided tour will start.
- Day 6 Sacred Valley - Cusco
In the morning after visiting the Market of Pisac, we will proceed to Cusco. On arrival in Cusco, we will visit the Central Square. After lunch, we will visit the most important temple in the Inca Empire, Qorikancha. The evening is free to wander the streets of Cusco which in spite of being touristy is very charming.
- Day 7 Cusco - Lima
After a leisurely breakfast, we will set out to explore more of this ancient capital of the Incas. Lunch will be local after which we will proceed to the airport to board the flight to Lima. On arrival, we will check into the Airport Hotel. This will be a transit stay before we head to Iguassu.
- Day 8 Lima - Foz Do Iguazu (Brazil)
After breakfast, we will board the flight to Foz do Iguazu. After arrival, we will proceed to check into our hotel in the town of Foz Do Iguazu in Brazil. Enjoy a traditional Brazilian Dinner.
- Day 9 Foz do Iguazu - Argentinian Side of Falls - Ride on the water (Argentinean Side)
Today we would need to cross the border twice and therefore passports are needed to be carried. We will arrive on the Argentinian side of the falls and start with the train ride to the ‘Devils Throat’ station. The walkway will take us to the edge of the falls where water drop is at its most powerful and that’s why this section is called the Devils Throat. We will also witness other waterfalls on both the upper and lower circuit of the falls. The most exciting part of the day will come when you would get into a speed boat and go under the falls to get soaking wet. At the end of the day we will drive back to Foz in Brazil.
- Day 10 Foz Do Iguazu - Rio de Janeiro
The Iguassu falls are one of the new seven natural wonders of the world. The view from the Brazilian side is different than that which we witness from Argentina. On the Brazilian side there is a long walk- way along the canyon with an extension to the lower base of the Devils Throat, which today would be actually visible as we would be facing it. After lunch we will head to the airport to board a flight to Rio de Janeiro. The evening is free to enjoy a walk on the famous Copa Cabana beach.
- Day 11 Rio de Janeiro
In the morning after breakfast, we will visit the Sugarloaf Mountain taking a cable car to the top. We can enjoy breathtaking views of the Copa Cabana beach from here as well as the rest of the city. In the evening, visit the Corcovado, from where it is possible to admire the most famous icon of the city, a white Christ or which is also known as the Christ De Redeemer.
- Day 12 Rio de Janeiro – India
After breakfast, we will proceed to the airport in order to get ready for our flight to India.
